The train departed Cleethorpes early Saturday morning (approx 0600-0630) and travelled across the country to a choice of destinations.
Passengers were able to leave the train at Chester to enjoy the attractions of the historic walled city with its Roman remain, museums and beautiful setting on the River Dee. Alternatively passengers were also able to stay on board for a stunning run along the Welsh coast to the Victorian resort of Llandudno with its long promenade and picturesque setting. Passengers rode the train up the Great Orrne or simply soaked up the atmosphere of Wales' premier seaside resort. The lengthening spring evenings meant passengers could enjoy the scenery on both the outward and return journeys.
The train stopped for around four hours in Llandudno or passengers could choose to leave the train in Chester where they had approximately six hours to enjoy the sights in the attractive city.
Whichever destination passengers chose they had the choice of standard, first class and dining coached, with all seats at tables. First and standard class passengers were able to purchase teas, coffee and light refreshments from the buffet whilst those passengers travelling dining were served breakfast and elevenses on the outward journey with a four course dinner being served on the return.
